Terms and Conditions

By booking a journey with Knutsford Taxis (referred to as “we”, “us”, or “our”), you (referred to as “the customer”, “you”) agree to be legally bound by these Terms and Conditions.

Agreement to Terms

Bookings

2.1. Making a Booking: Bookings can be made via our website’s booking form or by telephone. You must provide accurate details, including your full name, contact number, pickup address, destination, and the requested date and time.

2.2. Booking Confirmation: We will confirm your booking via email or phone. A booking is not confirmed until you have received this confirmation from us.

2.3. Special Requirements: Please specify any special requirements at the time of booking, such as the need for a child seat or wheelchair accessibility. We will do our best to accommodate these requests, subject to availability.

Pricing and Payment

3.1. Fares: We provide a fare estimate or a fixed price at the time of booking. This price is based on the journey details you provide. Changes to the journey (e.g., extra stops, different route) may result in an altered fare.

3.2. Additional Charges: Fares may be subject to additional charges, including but not limited to:

  • Waiting Time: A waiting time fee may be applied if a driver has to wait longer than 15 minutes past the scheduled pickup time.
  • Tolls and Parking: Any road tolls or parking fees incurred during the journey will be added to the final fare.
  • Soiling/Damage: A cleaning fee will be charged if the vehicle is soiled or damaged by the passenger.

3.3. Payment: Payment can be made by cash to the driver or via credit/debit card as specified during the booking process. All payments are due upon completion of the journey unless pre-paid.

Cancellations and Refunds

4.1. Cancellation by Customer:

  • If you need to cancel your booking, please notify us as soon as possible.
  • Cancellations made more than [2] hours before the scheduled pickup time will not incur a charge.
  • Cancellations made less than [2] hours before the scheduled pickup time may be subject to a cancellation fee.

4.2. Cancellation by Us: In the rare event that we are unable to fulfill your booking (e.g., due to vehicle breakdown or unforeseen circumstances), we will inform you immediately and will not charge you. We are not liable for any consequential losses arising from such a cancellation.

Passenger Conduct

5.1. Behavior: We reserve the right to refuse travel to any person who is, or appears to be, under the influence of alcohol or illegal drugs, or whose behavior is considered a threat to the driver, the vehicle, or other passengers.

5.2. Safety: All passengers are required to wear seatbelts in accordance with UK law.

5.3. Smoking and Vaping: Smoking and vaping are strictly prohibited in all our vehicles.

5.4. Luggage: Passengers are responsible for their own luggage. We accept no liability for any loss or damage to luggage carried in our vehicles.

Liability

6.1. We are not liable for delays caused by circumstances outside of our control, such as severe traffic congestion, road closures, accidents, or extreme weather conditions.

6.2. Our liability for any claim or loss shall not exceed the cost of the journey booked.

Privacy

We are committed to protecting your privacy. Any personal data you provide will be handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy. We may update these Terms and Conditions from time to time. The version published on our website at the time of your booking will apply.

Governing Law

These Terms and Conditions shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales.
